Where Did 65 Lakh Software Go?
A major corruption scandal has surfaced in Madhesh Province. The Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers paid around ₨65 lakh for six software systems, but none of them ever reached the office or were even registered. The missing software includes Inventory Management System, Office Automation, Personnel Information, Contract Management, Project Performance, and Data Entry & Reporting System. Despite this, the supplier was fully paid in FY 2077/78. The CIAA has started an investigation, suspecting collusion among officials and misuse of taxpayers’ money. The case has raised serious questions about transparency and accountability in the provincial government.
