Birth, Marriage Certificates to Be Available on Nagarik App

The government has started the process of integrating national civil registration services into the Nagarik App, allowing citizens to access important documents such as birth registration, marriage registration, and divorce registration certificates digitally.

According to Director General of the Department of National ID and Civil Registration Shreechandra Sah, the integration of civil registration data into a unified system is currently in its initial stage. He said the work is being carried out in coordination with relevant agencies and will be implemented soon after system development is completed.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader push to strengthen digital governance and expand online public services. Under this plan, services such as civil servant personal records, Public Service Commission examination admit cards, and No Objection Certificates (NOC) for foreign study are also being integrated into the app.

Officials said that the goal is to turn the Nagarik App into a “one-stop digital service platform” that allows citizens to access multiple government services in one place. The move is expected to improve transparency, reduce administrative delays, and make public service delivery more efficient and accessible.
