Bardibas ACC Registers 2,525 Complaints in Current Fiscal Year

The Bardibas regional office of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has registered 2,525 complaints in the current fiscal year 2082/83 up to the end of Poush. Among these, 812 complaints have already been resolved, while 1,713 are under investigation. Most complaints (72.6%) are related to local government activities, with the highest number from Dhanusha district.

Bardibas ACC Registers 2,525 Complaints in Current Fiscal Year

The Bardibas office of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has recorded a total of 2,525 complaints in the current fiscal year 2082/83 up to the end of Poush. Out of these, 812 complaints have already been resolved, according to Deputy Secretary Prakash Pokharel.

During a ceremony organized on the ACC’s 35th foundation day, the Bardibas regional office shared that 1,713 complaints remain under investigation. Deputy Secretary Pokharel noted that the majority—72.6%—of the complaints are related to local government bodies.

District-wise, Dhanusha reported the highest number of complaints at 780, followed by Mahottari with 514, Siraha with 481, and Sarlahi with 397. Solukhumbu recorded the lowest, with 39 complaints.

The ACC handles complaints through a structured process including screening, preliminary and detailed investigation. Depending on the findings, complaints are either resolved internally, forwarded for necessary action, or prosecuted in court.

In the first half of the current fiscal year, 605 complaints were resolved, 10 complaints were addressed with suggestions, 79 were forwarded for necessary action, and 118 complaints were consolidated for further processing.

Ram Bahadur Kurumbang, head of the Bardibas regional office, emphasized that the ACC remains committed to combating corruption by maintaining integrity, impartiality, and fearlessness in all its operations. The Bardibas office covers Madhesh Province districts including Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, and Sarlahi; Koshi Province districts including Okhaldhunga, Khotang, and Solukhumbu; and Bagmati Province districts including Sindhuli and Ramechhap.
