The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is preparing to unveil its election manifesto in the first week of Falgun.
A team led by Vice Chairperson Dr. Swarnim Wagle is working on the document. Party Treasurer Lima Adhikari said consultations with experts have been completed and the process of documenting the manifesto is currently underway.
Besides Vice Chairperson Wagle, the manifesto drafting task force includes central members Araniko Pandey, Sobita Gautam, Krantishikha Dhital, among others.
According to Adhikari, the manifesto is being developed around five core pillars.
She said addressing the spirit of the Gen Z movement is the party’s top priority. “An agreement has been reached between Gen Z representatives and the government, and the manifesto will fully reflect that agreement,” she said, adding that the five pillars will form the foundation of the manifesto.
The first pillar focuses on reducing corruption and ensuring good governance. Adhikari said discussions have been held on how to institutionalize good governance, including expanding and systematizing digital payment systems, digitizing public services, and making government operations more technology-driven.
The second pillar emphasizes a dynamic economy, with economic reform as its starting point. The party aims to resolve existing economic challenges, elevate Nepal to a middle-income country within ten years, and double the size of the current economy in the same period.
The third pillar addresses challenges faced by the private sector. RSP believes policy and administrative hurdles have discouraged domestic investment. Adhikari said the manifesto will prioritize reforms in federal laws and policies to create an investment-friendly environment and encourage the private sector.
The fourth pillar focuses on infrastructure development and sustainable management. This includes roads, energy, irrigation, and water resources. Adhikari added that inflation control is also a key concern.
She said rising kitchen expenses are largely driven by transportation costs, and the party is considering stronger state involvement in pricing policies, fare regulation, and price determination, which will be reflected in the manifesto.
In addition, the party is preparing a checklist of 100 tasks to be completed within the first 100 days of forming a government.
Adhikari also said that issues and demands of Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) will be included in the manifesto. These include voting rights for migrant Nepalis, addressing their legitimate concerns, ensuring a safe environment for investment in Nepal, and providing security guarantees.
Furthermore, the party is working on plans to remove policy and legal obstacles to attract foreign investment.
