Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli during an international summit, where the two leaders discussed the long-standing ties between Nepal and Russia.

Putin highlighted that Nepal and Russia established diplomatic relations in 1956. He described the partnership as smooth, respectful, and without disputes, calling it a “beautiful cooperation” between the two countries.

The Russian leader noted that there have never been issues in the relationship and praised the continued goodwill between Moscow and Kathmandu. He emphasized that the friendship has stood strong for decades.

Putin further stressed the importance of expanding this bond in the future. He said it would be wise to explore ways to “deepen and broaden” the partnership, underlining Russia’s readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Nepal.
