Man Dies After Falling From Bus Door in Baitadi
A man has died after falling from the door of a moving bus in Baitadi district. The victim sustained serious head injuries in the incident. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the district hospital . Police have taken the bus and driver into custody for investigation.
A 68-year-old man died after falling from the door of a bus in Baitadi on Thursday evening, police said. The incident occurred along the Dasharathchand Highway at the Gurukhola turn in Dasharathchand Municipality–1.
The deceased has been identified as Padamraj Bhatta, a resident of Dasharathchand Municipality–8, Tripura. He was traveling on a bus heading towards Baitadi from Mahendranagar when he fell from the door of the vehicle at around 4:45 pm.
According to District Police Office Baitadi spokesperson Police Inspector Suraj Singh, Bhatta sustained serious injuries, particularly to his head, after falling from the moving bus.
He was immediately taken to the district hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. His body has been kept at the hospital for further legal procedures.
Police have taken the bus, bearing registration number Su.Pa.Pra.02001 Kha 1017, and its driver, Dasharath Mahara, into custody. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway, police said.
