Balendra Shah: RSP Wants to Take Karnali’s Produce Worldwide

Senior RSP leader Balendra Shah claimed that his party is uniquely positioned to understand the depth and realities of Karnali Province. Speaking at an election rally in Surkhet, he said that many leaders have exploited the hardships of Karnali, but RSP wants to genuinely comprehend and address the region’s issues.

“This is the country’s largest lake, Rara Lake, which King Mahendra once called the ‘Heavenly Apsara’. I am delighted to visit this place,” Shah said. “Here is the longest river, the largest district, the largest rural municipality, and the deepest lake in Nepal. No government or party has ever truly understood these depths. RSP wants to be the party that does.”

Shah emphasized that Karnali’s Yarsagumba has global market potential, yet local products like apples and Marsi rice have not reached other regions like Chitwan and Jhapa.

“Today, Yarsagumba from Dolpa can reach international markets, but Karnali’s apples and Marsi rice struggle to even reach Chitwan or Jhapa. RSP wants to ensure that local produce reaches at least across Nepal, if not the world,” he added.

Shah’s remarks reflect RSP’s commitment to regional development, local economic empowerment, and creating nationwide and international opportunities for Karnali’s agricultural products.
