Udayapur police have arrested Yubaraj Shrestha, 47, principal of Himshikhar Community English Boarding School in Belka Municipality-2, for allegedly r*ping a 14-year-old student on school premises on Saturday night around 10:45 PM.
The victim’s sister-in-law filed a formal complaint with the police on Sunday evening, leading to Shrestha’s immediate arrest by Rampur Thoksila police. Locals reported that initial attempts were made to cover up the incident, and political representatives allegedly pressured the family to settle the matter quietly.
Public exposure of the case forced authorities to take action. Police confirmed that the incident is being treated seriously, and the investigation is ongoing.
DSP Kedarman Dong stated that Shrestha remains in police custody in Rampur for further investigation into the allegations. Authorities have assured the public that the case will be handled according to the law, ensuring justice for the victim.
