Arrested for Showing Gun on TikTok
Police arrested 21-year-old Karma Sangpo Thakuri from Mustang, currently living in Swayambhu, after he displayed a weapon on TikTok. He was caught from a hotel in Thamel, and a gun-like weapon was recovered.
Kathmandu police have arrested a young man for showing a weapon on TikTok. The arrested individual has been identified as Karma Sangpo Thakuri, 21, originally from Baragung Muktinath Rural Municipality-1, Mustang, and currently residing in Swayambhu.
A joint team from District Police Complex Bhrikutimandap and Lainchaur Police Circle apprehended him from New Bhansa Hotel in Thamel. Police said the weapon was hidden inside a pillow in a fourth-floor hotel room.
The seized weapon had markings “TM-07K.K mdtsushirso JAPAN and foreign patents pending made in Japan,” resembling a Hornet model firearm.
According to Kathmandu police spokesperson SP Apilraj Bohara, Thakuri has been placed under a five-day custody extension for further investigation.
