2 Mangsir, Kathmandu — Prime Minister Sushila Karki met with leaders of the Nepali Congress who support the party’s Special General Convention on Tuesday. The meeting aimed to discuss the current political situation and ensure a smooth environment ahead of the upcoming elections.

According to Congress leader Gururaj Ghimire, “The Prime Minister wants a conducive environment for the elections. In that context, she has been meeting individuals, parties, and leaders she considers necessary. She also called us, so we went.”

During the discussion, Prime Minister Karki shared her perspective on the country’s present political circumstances. She emphasized the need to manage the country responsibly, safeguard the fundamental principles of democracy, and ensure that all electoral processes are carried out in accordance with legal mandates.

“She spoke about the recent developments in the country and reiterated her commitment to holding elections within the mandated timeframe,” Ghimire said.

In response, Congress leaders expressed that the party warmly welcomes the elections and confirmed its participation in the House of Representatives election scheduled for 21 Falgun. “The Prime Minister requested the creation of an appropriate environment for the elections,” Ghimire added. “Our party assured her that we welcome the elections and will participate. She also reaffirmed her commitment to holding the elections on 21 Falgun.”

Political analysts view these meetings as part of the Prime Minister’s efforts to ensure political stability and inclusivity in the run-up to the elections. By engaging with key political figures and party leaders, the government seeks to build a cooperative environment conducive to fair and timely elections.
