Gorkha Brigade 2025 Annual Report Presented to President Poudel

The 2025 annual report of the Gorkha Brigade was formally presented to President Ramchandra Poudel by Major General Gerald M. Strickland and his team from the British Army. The presentation highlighted the operational achievements and contributions of the Gorkha Brigade over the past year.

President Poudel emphasized the importance of the enduring friendship between Nepal and the United Kingdom, noting their cooperation in development, human welfare, and international peacekeeping. He also acknowledged that both countries share common goals through participation in UN peacekeeping missions.

Speaking about the role of the British Gorkhas, the President praised their exemplary service and said their contributions have strengthened bilateral ties and reinforced people-to-people relations between Nepal and the UK. He also noted that legitimate concerns of former British Gorkhas are being addressed through diplomatic channels.

Major General Strickland commended the Gorkhas for their frontline service and dedication. He highlighted the pride and respect with which the British public regards Nepali recruits, referring to them as the “sons and daughters of Nepal.” The event was also attended by Rob Fenn, the British Ambassador to Nepal, underlining the significance of the relationship.
