Meta contacts Nepal government over Facebook registration
Meta, the company behind Facebook, has reached out to the Nepal government through its Singapore office to get details for registration and listing. The Ministry of Communication and IT has already provided the requested information via email.
The social media company Meta, which runs Facebook, has contacted the Secretariat of Nepal’s Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.
According to the ministry’s spokesperson, Gajendra Thakur, a Meta employee based in Singapore reached out to the minister’s personal secretary, Shaligram Parajuli, seeking guidance on registration and listing requirements.
The ministry promptly sent the requested details via email. Thakur said, “After Meta’s employee asked what documents are required for registration, we sent all necessary information via email within five minutes.”
The ministry confirmed that the email was sent at 5 PM, ensuring Meta has all details needed to proceed with the registration process in Nepal.
