Federal Parliament Requests Return of Looted Goods from Gen Z Protests

The Federal Parliament Secretariat has officially appealed to the public to return all items stolen during the Gen Z youth protest held on Bhadra 24 at the New Baneshwor Parliament complex. According to the Secretariat’s Internal Services and Planning Branch, a range of electronic equipment, including printers, scanners, cameras, televisions, monitors, microphones, mixers, speakers, and photocopy machines, were reportedly taken by unauthorized individuals.

The Secretariat has also requested that anyone with knowledge of the location of these stolen items or the people involved come forward and inform them. Those who possess videos showing the looting are likewise urged to provide them to the Secretariat. The authorities have assured that the identities of informants will remain confidential.

The Gen Z protest, which began peacefully, escalated into vandalism, fire, and looting within the Parliament premises. Vehicles in the area were also damaged as part of the unrest. The Secretariat emphasized that returning the stolen items will help restore normalcy and ensure accountability.

Officials stated that the recovery of equipment is crucial for the smooth functioning of parliamentary operations, which were disrupted due to the unrest. They urged the public to cooperate and help return the stolen items as soon as possible.

This incident highlights the tension and chaos during the Gen Z movement while also showing the importance of civic responsibility in maintaining public property. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and are coordinating with relevant stakeholders to recover the missing items.
