Nepal to pay IT experts up to Rs 2 lakh per month
The Ministry of Communication and IT has announced new pay rules for skilled IT professionals in Nepal. As per the “IT System Development & Consultancy Cost Norms, 2082”, IT officers can now earn up to Rs 2 lakh per month. Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung said this decision aims to: • Provide high-paying jobs inside Nepal. • Reduce the brain drain of Nepali IT experts going abroad. • Build a competitive tech environment within the country. The standard has been implemented under Procurement Rule 64(12), ensuring that qualified IT professionals get fair opportunities to contribute to Nepal’s digital growth. This is expected to boost confidence among young tech talent and help the nation strengthen its IT sector.
